Cheapo Sci-fi Compilation

I used to buy loads of of very cheap compilations that contained pale imitations of original material. I think I've lost all of them now however here are a couple of tracks from one I recently found.

I'm not familiar with the Apes TV series or it's theme, but I love this tune. Tron, on the other hand, I am very familiar with and quite like this distilation of the music - a sort of Greatest Hits of Tron.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik Adverts & Bumpers

When Sigue Sigue Sputnik appeared in a firestorm of hype, they claimed they were signed to EMI for millions of pounds and, more worryingly, that they were the future of rock and roll. Neither of these turned out to be true. One of the more intriguing visions of the future they introduced us to was the idea of advertising between tracks on their debut album. I swear that one day this will happen for real. Anyway, here are a few of those adverts (I seem to have misplaced the one for their own computer game)

Ray Kroc Speaks

If you've read McLibel or Fast Food Nation you'll already be familiar with the wit and wisdom of Ray Kroc, you may even know what he looks like but most likely you haven't heard him talk. If you're wondering what the hell I'm on about then read this delightful bio. Now you can hear him and it's so satisfying that he sounds exactly as you'd imagine he would. This is taken from a flexi-disc recorded in 1979.
