BBC Radio in RealPlayer

If you don't want the preamble and just want to go straight to the script, you can install it from here.

What's it all about?

If you're a frequent online listener to BBC Radio's excellent programming, you've probably encountered their hideous radio popup. It only allows you a small amount of control over the stream and has the smallest amount of info possible. While RealPlayer's interface isn't going to win any awards it is far better than the popup.

What does it do?

It removes the popup and opens the stream directly in RealPlayer

What do I need?

You need:

  • Firefox as your browser.
  • The Greasemonkey extension
  • This script.

How do I install it?

  • If you haven't already installed it, then go to this page and install Greasemonkey. Don't forget to restart Firefox afterwards.
  • Right click on this link and select "Install User Script..."
  • That's it! Now go to the BBC site and listen to a radio show

Enjoy!
